I just bought a Honda Fit

Hello everyone, I just purchased a brand new 2012 Honda Fit. Actually this is my first car. I live in SoCal and have been lucky enough to get wherever I wanted to go on buss and subway but a few months ago I had to pull a crazy schedule to finish finals at school. So I said I had had enough and went car shopping. Anything I should know about or any tips on taking car of this car?

I'm probably gonna sound very retarded.... but I honestly don't know. After how many miles should I do the first oil change? and what kind of oil should I use? Should I attempt to change the oil or should I just take it to the dealer considering it is a brand new car? I want to make sure I have it well maintained, any help would be very appreciated.

If you can do it yourself, then save yourself some money... shouldn't be too hard. Oil change should be done every 3,000 - 4,000 miles.
