Default Slow gear changing on FIT manual

I have a 2009 FIT manual; bought it last fall as my winter car here in Toronto.
Reliable, economical and have an amazing amount of interior space.
My only disappointing issue is the excessive time it takes for the RPMs to drop when lifting off during gear changes.
I realize that the car has a "by wire" throttle connection-or lack of same-and that the drop in RPMs is computer controlled.
For some reason (probably related to emission control) Honda have decided let the RPMs drop at a very slow rate.
It is especially apparent when operating in the "3 valve" mode, below approximately 4400 RPM.
It takes forever for the RPMs to match the new RPMs in the next higher gear.
I am now back in my summer car an MX-5 Mazdaspeed and it a joy to drive.
Yes, I know I should have bought an Automatic.
Any body know of a software aftermarket that will solve the problem?
